Become ADA Compliant

The wheels have been set in motion to allow those with disabilities to enjoy a peaceful afternoon at the pool, without depending on somebody else all the time. The American Disabilities Act is requiring that by the end of the year all swimming pools to be fitted with at least a swimming pool lift. This will facilitate the access for disabled people who had to rely either on friends or staff to enter the water.

The law has been adopted and there is no turning back now, which makes the pool owners scramble to meet the deadline. It might look like a difficult task, but the truth is that all those who own such resorts and facilities can purchase a swimming pool lift online. The prices didn’t spike yet, and you can find plenty of products, which meet or exceed the American Disabilities Act specifications. Such a device can be easily installed on a side of the pool and can operate at weights up to 300lbs.

If you want to comply fully with the ADA demands and even go a step forward to make your resort the perfect place to spend some quality time you can go even further. Adding a ramp to be used in conjunction with the swimming pool lift will facilitate access, and a mobile aquatic chair will complement it nicely. We shouldn’t need an incentive from the law to do everything we can to prevent any kind of discrimination, but this act pushed things into overdrive.
