I try to imagine how and when it happened that those in their early twenties – precisely 21 transformed to look absolutely young. Now, I did not say that I’m looking older. I became thirty-one last month. This would have mean that I have no business spending quality time in trying to find out the newest skin-salvaging trend. Unfortunately, I’m caught up in this indulgence. Come to think of it, it seems the older women look hot in recent time – check out the Cameron Diaz, and the desperate housewives, for instance, hmm…

Regardless of the time and resources invested by the beauty companies recently on anti-wrinkle; by the time they are through filling the fountain of youth, researchers on anti-aging may discover a cure for not just crow’s feet. Sounds like mixed messages. If older looks younger, then it is good, is it?
Nothing to worry about ladies, especially when you take cognizance of the fact that there is display of skin care lines for men in recent time. Recently, in a night outing, I confirmed an established theory – which came as I watched friends’ reruns just before I turned thirty – it was the crowding of an entire restaurant that night by spring-beakers that brought back the theory to my mind. You want to know the theory – it is my theory of course, that women look better with age.
Appearance: The Diane Element
Is it okay if we begin with the Dianes? First is Diane Lane – at forty-two, she still looks so gorgeous. What about the other Diane – I mean Diane Keaton – she has turned sixty-one if you don’t know! Of course, you must not bear Diane to obtain a renewed look. Beyond the Dianes, you will also find Felicity Huffman, who is forty, Sharon Stone, who is almost crossing to fifty, and of course Terri Hatcher, who is more than forty. My hubby mistook forty-three year old Marcia Cross to be in her middle thirties – her looks of course What do you think of Helen Mirren, who is the queen at sixty-one? Okay, look at Jennifer Aniston, who looks like a teenage model at her late thirties… the list is endless!
Oh, I perceive you are thinking right now that it is not fair to use Hollywood women in this analogy – okay, perhaps you have a point there. But, just ponder over it, you would still have evidence with other women of various ages who is not Hollywood-related. At age forty, my very own aunt is shaped like a young girl in her middle twenties – I’m not kidding you!
In fact, young men still make advances to her – yes, I’m serious! Indeed, beauty is not just skin deep. It reflects all round. Age brings a special beauty that comes with self-possession and confidence, which are more than mere numbers. The wrinkle and acne combo aren’t any worries for the older women – I don’t worry about the combo either!
Age Comes with Increased Sensuality
Of course, it isn’t anything new that men’s look improves with age. You want instances right? Okay, check out men like Harrison, George, Sean, Brad… the list continues. As the decades roll by, we look forward to that, they will get sexier. Mind you, I haven’t heard anyone saying that ‘women do not improve in looks with age’; but, don’t you think that silence speaks volumes and so audibly? For the wrinkle remedy (cream) argument, I may be early; however, minus age, you can easily get the general assumption that ‘looks depreciation’ sets in, after a woman gives birth and also with age.
